I had the opportunity to photograph a gorgeous Pakistani wedding at The Lantana in Randolph, MA recently. As weddings go, south Asian wedding ceremonies are a DREAM opportunity for any photojournalist. They present a wonderful mix of color and chaos. And the blend of emotions on display – let’s just say there aren’t enough iphone emoticons to illustrate the range one gets to see at these events 🙂
My hope is for these pictures to make you FEEL. Feel the rush that Mona feels when she looks at herself in the mirror. Feel her nervousness as she walks down the aisle. The exhaustion when the couple poses for the gazillionth family portrait! And the bitter sweetness of leaving one family for another. If the last few pictures leave a lump in your throat, that, for me at least, is a job well done.
Of course, these pictures wouldn’t be what they are without all the people who populate them. So a MASSIVE thank you to the Habibs and Nassers who were both super welcoming! Also, big thanks to Jennifer of Aphrodite Wedding Photography, my second shooter on the day.
